WAXED NOVELTIES
TOYS, GUM, OR BOTH

These waxed novelties were so much fun, especially the waxed lips, and the waxed fangs. Usually these two came out at Halloween.

It was nothing to see trick or treater with lips or fangs over their lips. When the wax started to soften the kids would chew the wax. The kids would have a ball of chewed wax in their jaw and their teeth would be red.

When I was a kid they also had a black mustache, which had a licorice flavor. My absolute favorite was a orange harmonica. It really did play even if you had eaten it down to the last cord.
But these last two no longer are around.

These are the memorable waxed lips.
They are more like a toy than a candy.

In the history department, I read that
the company originated around 1899.
They are not sure when they created
the waxed lips.

It really doesn't matter when, it just
matters that they are still around.

Halloween Time is when you see the famous waxed fangs.

This treat is around for the fall season, and then disappears until fall of the next year.

At least I never see them after Halloween.

Well, whatever, enjoy them while you can find them.

Nik-L-Nips have been around forever, at least so it seems. I know from history that The American Candy company originated back in 1899.

The name of this candy came from the price, which was a nickel. Then the idea was that you nipped off the top and drank the liquid.

"GET IT" Nik-L-Nip.
