GREEN HAT, AN IRISH CHOCOLATE TOPPER.
"WEARIN OF THE GREEN HAT"
If you be wearin of the green on March 17th, I be wishing you a HAPPY ST. PATRICKS DAY.
Stick around and I will show you how to make one of these Lil-Green-Toppers.
INGREDIENTS
Rice Krispies-6 cups Butter-6 Tbls. Marshmallows-1 bag
Green Chocolate Wafers-1 cup Hershey bar-1 bar Laffy Taffy-1 yellow piece. Bag of Gold Chocolate coins
Mix up rice krispies with butter and Marsh- mallows.
Let set until cool to the touch.
Now take a small ball of krispy mix and start to shape the brim of the hat. Make this ball about a 5-inch circle, and as flat as you can get it. Especially flatten around the edge.
Take another ball, and make the top of the hat. About 2-inches tall, and 2-inches around. Shape, roll, pinch, whatever it takes to sharpen the edges, and make it round and flat on top.
Kind of roll the sides of the brim of the hat up. Place something under the edges to hold up. Place the top on the brim, and put in freezer for 10 minutes.
Take your krispy hat out of the refrigerator. It will be nice and firm. Melt your green chocolate wafers until they are creamy & smooth.
I used a large stiff brush and painted the hat until it had a thick coating of green chocolate. Sit on a rack to firm up, or put in frig for 5 minutes.
Take your Hershey Bar and break on the lines. They will look like rectangles, now break them in half. These are going to be the band on your hat. Put a little green chocolate on the back of the half Hershey to act like a glue. Place the half Hersheys all away around the hat.
Now you are ready for the buckle on the front of your hat. Take a piece of yellow laffy taffy and flatten the end of the taffy. Now with scissors cut out the shape of the buckle. Put alittle green chocolate on the back of the yellow buckle and glue onto the front of the hat.
