MY HERO, MY DAD.
FATHERS DAY
This is a day to honor our Dads,
and make them feel so very special.
I know that not all Dads like baseball,
but even if they don't, they will love
this because you made it.
This is a very easy project for boys or
for girls. I'm sure Mom would help.
Start off with the
Rice Krispy recipe:
6-cups rice krispies
3-TLBs of butter
1-bag marshmallows
Follow recipe on
cereal box.
Let cereal mixture cool for about 5 minutes.
Butter hands, take from bowl enough krispy
treat mixture to make a ball about 5 inches around. Compress
the ball until it is very smooth and tight.
Put in freezer for 5 minutes.
While the baseball
is in the freezer
Put a tray of white
chocolate in Micro.
I use CANDYQUIK
because it melts
fast.
Take baseball from freezer, put a stick or butter-
knife into the bottom of the ball. This way, you can
control the ball when you roll it in the chocolate.
Use a fork in the other hand to help. When you have it
covered totally with chocolate, put it on a rack to drain.
Now while the ball
is wet, take red licorice
lace and make the outline
of a seam on the ball.
With red frosting
and a frosting tip, create the stitches on the baseball, also write Best Dad, or whatever you want. Put in freezer.
While the baseball
is in the freezer
you can make the
DISPLAY BOX.
Very simple:
3 Hershey bars
broke in half.
Glue 4 sides with melted Chocolate. Let sit for 5 minutes.
It's time to put the top on
the DISPLAY BOX and this takes
half of a hershey bar, plus one
section from the last half.
Glue it on with melted chocolate.
Let set for 10 minutes.
Now, set the DISPLAY BOX
on a saucer. You can decorate
the box if you want. I chose
not to. Go get the baseball,
and put a little melted chocolate
on top of the box, now the baseball.
