CANDY POINSETTIA
RED, BEAUTIFUL, & EDIBLE!

This Candy Poinsettia is so beautiful.
I would make one for every guest if I were giving
a holiday dinner party. What an impression.

MAIN INGREDIENT TO MAKE POINSETTIAS ARE AIRHEAD CANDY

This is really not that hard to prepare. The hard part is
warming up the AIRHEADS and rolling them out nice and thin.

To Warm up the AIRHEADS you can use a blow dryer, candle
warmer, and after I was finished, my husband said "use a
heating Pad." which I think would have worked better.

When the AIRHEADS were warm and soft like play-dough I began
rolling and stretching the candy. I bought a lasagna maker
at the Thrift Store for $2.00, and that worked really well.
I know that everyone doesn't have a lasagna maker, so you
have to keep the AIRHEADS warm (not hot) and just keep
rolling it out thinner and thinner.

I have taken an old silk flower
and cut out 3 different size
leaves. (Large, bottom layer,
Medium, middle layer, Small,
Top layer.

Use the silk leaves for templates.
I used a pick to scratch a mark around
the leaves, and then cut them out with
scissors. Cut 7-large leafs, 5-medium leafs, and 3-small
leafs.

If you will notice in the picture above I have cut out 3
leafs. First leaf is like it is when cut, Second leaf is
folded in half, and the Third leaf is opened out again, but
you will notice that it has a crease in the center and it
appears slightly ruffled. Also the end has been pinched.
This is what you must do to all of the leaves.

The picture above shows you how I took a l-1/2" lid, and
used it as the base for my candy poinsettia.

Take about 4-5 white chocolate wafers and melt down
to a liquid.

This is what your bottom 7 leaves are going to sit in.

Then take your middle 5-leaves and place on top of the
7-leaves. Making sure all leaves are stuck in chocolate.

The last 3-leaves place on top of the others, and then
spoon a little bit of chocolate in the middle so that
the chocolate will glue the last set of leaves.

Crush a piece of yellow hard candy, and place some of the
yellow chips in the center, stick into the chocolate.
LET SET TILL CHOCOLATE IS HARD. DO NOT TOUCH.

Now you
may pick
up your
POINSETTIA,
now that
the
chocolate
is solid.

Now you may re-arrange the petals,
because the taffy starts to settle
on top of each other, because of the room temperture.
After arranging the petals place in
freezer until time for your guest to
arrive and sit down for dinner.

Now This is a beautiful place
setting that any hostess would
be very proud of.
